You and a guest are invited to an advance sneak peek of the highly anticipated Japanese Animated feature film

Rudolf the Black Cat (also known as Rudolf and Ippaiattena)

followed by a Q&A with Director Motonori Sakakibara and actress Mao Inoue.

Rudolf the Black Cat adapts Hiroshi Saitou’s 1987 children’s book of the same name, for which he won the 27th Kodansha Award for New Writers of Children’s Literature.

Rudolf, a black cat, used to play in a small yard and it was the only world he knew. But one day, he is suddenly separated from his bellowed master. He unexpectedly wakes up in a long distance truck that takes him to Tokyo. There, he meets a big boss cat feared by everyone in town. Unable to return home, Rudolf starts a new life full of challenges and excitement. The big boss cat becomes like a big brother to him, teaches him how to relate to humans and other important things in life.

The film will star Mao Inoue and Ryohei Suzuki in the lead roles, with Inoue playing Rudolph, and Suzuki playing Ippaiattena. The film will be Suzuki’s first foray into voice acting.

*This film will have English subtitles.
